2008 "Levitation" Syrah Etched 6 Liter
2008 "Levitation" Syrah Etched 6 Liter
The 2008 Levitation combines fruit from Les Collines Vineyard (57%) in the Walla Walla Valley AVA, and Lewis Vineyard (43%) in the Yakima Valley AVA. The cooler vintage helped retain acids while leaving the grapes hanging longer for full flavor development while allowing for lower than normal alcohol levels. Aged for 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels it shows midnight black in color with a dark purple rim, and smells and tastes of dark purple fruits, roasted meats, minerals, and ripe raspberries. The incredibly rich and ripe tannins coat the entire mouth. This wine will continue to grow and evolve over the next 5 years, and will easily last a decade, but is totally and utterly enjoyable now.
